The Mill – The past year.

One Year On

One year ago, on 1 December, we moved into the rooms above The Mill Cafe at St Catherine’s . It was a significant move for us as we had been established in premises in Preston for 4 years, and whilst we needed to relocate, we had anxieties about finding a good location, to not risk losing clients. So, we set about consulting with our current clients, and were eventually satisfied the Mill would not pose any issues for our clients, old and new, and so we proceeded with our plans to relocate.

So, was it worth it? Well, if you have n’t visited, then put it on your ‘to visit’ list! The building is situated just a short drive down the drive towards the main hospice building, and with a large car park, parking is not difficult, although its fair to say it can get very busy, especially at lunchtimes when people flock from across the area to meet friends and family for a bite to eat.

It’s a lovely building, with a warm and positive, vibrant atmosphere. The food is fabulous and the Cafe often have special events and special menus throughout the year. The sweets are absolutely scrumptious! Outdoors at the front is a great pet friendly outdoor area with seating and dog bowls. Disabled access and a lift upstairs to the therapy rooms completes the range of facilities. Whilst it can be a very bustling environment downstairs, once upstairs and in the therapy rooms, the relaxed, calming environment takes over. Our therapy room offers space for one to one counselling sessions, a couch for sports massage, bowen, reflexology and other complementary therapies.

The year has flown and feedback from our clients is very positive. The facilities meet our requirements and we are able to offer treatments late evenings and Saturdays and Sunday too. Our service has expanded over the past year and we are slowly running out of space, yet so pleased we choose The Mill. Working with St Catherine’s is a pleasure and it’s been great to get involved with all the fund-raising events and activities that they hold.

Taking part in the Christmas Festival this weekend has been a great end to our first year, and we look forward to many more events over the coming years.

Thank You very much to All at St Catherine’s & The Mill

A Very Merry Christmas and Best Wishes for 2016.
