The Therapy Company’s Responsibilities
Patient Acceptance: The Therapy Company is not obligated to accept you as a patient. If we determine that we cannot provide the appropriate support, we are not required to give a reason for not accepting you.
Respect and Non-Discrimination: The Therapy Company will treat all patients with dignity, respect, and without prejudice based on age, sex, gender, or other protected characteristics.
Information Protection: The Therapy Company is committed to safeguarding your information and privacy. For more details, please refer to our Privacy Policy.
Information Sharing: The Therapy Company will share relevant information about your diagnosis and treatment with other healthcare providers as necessary for your care.
Assessment and Investigations: We will perform a full assessment and may request additional investigations or assessments by other specialists. Treatment will not commence until we have reviewed the results of any necessary investigations, assessments, or specialist reviews.
Your Responsibilities
Appointment Confirmation: By booking an appointment, you agree to our terms and conditions.
Patient Registration: Before your appointment, you must complete the patient registration form and any other requested forms, providing accurate and up-to-date information. These forms must be submitted in a timely manner; failure to do so may result in the cancellation or delay of your appointment.
Investigations and Specialist Reviews: It is your responsibility to obtain and provide any requested investigations or specialist reviews (which may incur additional costs). Delays in providing these may delay or prevent your treatment.
Health Updates: You must inform The Therapy Company of any changes in your health, mental health, or personal circumstances. Failure to disclose relevant information could affect your treatment and health outcomes.
Appointment Punctuality: Please arrive on time for your appointments, whether in person or online. Late arrivals may result in the need to reschedule or cancel your appointment without notice or refund.
Online Appointments: For remote appointments, you will receive a Zoom link or other form of communication discussed with Secretary. Ensure you are in the UK at the time of the appointment. Failure to do so may lead to cancellation without notice or refund.
Privacy and Confidentiality: Ensure you are in a quiet, private space for online appointments where confidentiality can be maintained. If your privacy cannot be assured, the clinician has the right to cancel or reschedule the appointment without notice or refund.
Protecting Your Privacy
Data Protection: The Therapy Company is committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with the GDPR. We will only use your data for the purposes of providing care and treatment, processing payments, and fulfilling legal obligations.
Data Collection: We collect personal data such as contact details, presenting problems, medical history, and other relevant records. We may also share your GP details in emergencies or as required by law.
Confidentiality and Consent: By using our services, you consent to the storage and processing of your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Information Governance Policy. We may disclose your information if legally required to protect yourself or others, or in cases of safeguarding concerns.
Young People and Consent: If the patient is under 18 and capable of understanding their treatment, we will respect their wishes regarding consent, including refusing treatment or withholding information from parents/guardians.
Retention of Information: Your records will be retained for at least 7 years after discharge, or until your 25th birthday if you are under 18. The Therapy Company may review records before securely destroying them.
Zero Tolerance Policy
Abusive Behaviour: The Therapy Company has a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of abusive or aggressive communication towards staff. If we deem communication to be abusive, we reserve the right to withdraw services without a refund and may refer you to another provider.
Intoxication: We reserve the right to terminate an appointment if the patient is intoxicated or under the influence of drugs, without notice or refund.
Emergency Support
No Emergency Service: The Therapy Company does not provide emergency or crisis care. If you are in an emergency or high-risk situation, you should contact the NHS Crisis Team, visit the nearest A&E, or call emergency services (999 or 111).
Referral to Specialist Services: If we determine you need more specialised care than we can provide, we will refer you to an appropriate organisation.
Fees and Payment
Payment: All appointments are chargeable. Payment is required at least 7 days before your appointment. If payment is not received, your appointment will be cancelled.
Cancellations: You must notify us at least 72 hours in advance if you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment. Failure to do so will result in a 50% rebooking fee. No refund will be given for cancelled appointments.
Refunds: Refunds will be processed within 10 working days, as per our cancellation policy.
Medication and Prescriptions
Prescriptions: Prescriptions will only be issued at the discretion of the psychiatrist.
Repeat Prescriptions: If you are on stable medication, you may request a repeat prescription via the psychiatrist’s secretary. A repeat prescription administration fee will apply.
Pharmacy Charges: The Therapy Company’s prescriptions are private and are subject to charges by the pharmacy. These charges are separate from your assessment and follow-up fees.
Shared Care: If your GP agrees to a Shared Care Agreement, you will be required to attend regular follow-up appointments to monitor your treatment. Failure to attend these appointments will void the agreement.
Complaints
Complaints Process: If you wish to make a complaint, please contact your point of contact at The Therapy Company. If they are unable to resolve the issue, you can escalate it through our formal Complaints Process.
Liability
Limitation of Liability: The Therapy Company does not accept liability for treatment provided by any external clinicians or partners. Our liability is limited to the fees paid for the services provided.
Force Majeure: The Therapy Company is not liable for any failure to meet obligations due to events beyond our control, such as natural disasters or other uncontrollable circumstances.
Miscellaneous
Governing Law: These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with English law.
Agreement: By booking an appointment with The Therapy Company, you confirm that you understand and agree to these terms and conditions.
Declaration
By booking an appointment with The ADHD Centre, you confirm:
• You agree to our terms and conditions.
• The information you have provided is accurate and up to date.
• You understand that the clinician is directly responsible for your care.
• You agree to be contacted regarding your care or appointment details.
