Professor Karen Wright’s diverse range of clinical experiences span over a period of more than 40 years. She has led and developed services, as well as nursing and psychotherapy curricula. She is a registered nurse (both Adult and Mental Health registrations), teacher, CBT psychotherapist, and is a member of the British Association of Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapists (BABCP). She is a mental health researcher, Chair of an NHS Research Ethics Committee (HRA), and has published widely in academic journals. She is the lead of author of the core textbook The Essentials of Mental Health Nursing (2018 & 2024).  

She provides therapy for people with a range of experiences such as eating distress and disorder, self-harm, complex emotional needs, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, bi-polar and ADHD.  

 

Karen is known for her authenticity, compassion, and breadth of knowledge.
